Monday, Sept. 8, the 3rd graders of Highland Park will present a Music Program celebrating Grandparents’ Day.
A student performance will be at 2:00 pm, and at 5:30 pm we invite family and friends to join us for an evening performance. The program will take place in Highland Park’s cafeteria, and will be about 25 minutes in length.
Costume: Students must wear their costume to school on the day of the program, or change at school. The costume should be an outfit from the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s, or 80’s.
Elvis:
Well it’s one for the money, two for the show,
Three to get ready, now, go, cat go!
But don’t you step on my blue suede shoes
Well you can do anything, but lay off of my blue suede shoes
EVERYONE:
Well you can knock me down, step on my face
Say my name all over the place
Do anything that you wanna do,
But uh-oh honey lay off of them shoes
Now don’t you step on my blue suede shoes
Well you can do anything, but lay off of my blue suede shoes
ELVIS: Let’s go, cats!
~instrumental~

Young man, there's no need to feel down
I said young man, pick yourself off the ground
I said young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy
EVERYONE:
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
They have everything for young men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
You can get yourself clean
You can have a good meal
You can do whatever you feel
GROUP 1:
Young man, are you listening to me
I said young man, what do you want to be
I said young man, you can make real your dreams
But you've got to know that one thing
EVERYONE:
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
They have everything for young men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys

Been working so hard
I'm punching my card
Eight hours, for what?
Oh, tell me what I got
I've got this feeling
That time's just holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling
Or else I'll tear up this town
So now I gotta cut loose
Footloose
Kick off the Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me off of my knees
Jack, get back
Come on before we crack
Lose your blues
Everybody cut foot-
(Cut footloose - whoa)
(Cut footloose - whoa)
(Cut footloose - whoa)
(Cut footloose - whoa)
AAAAHHH!!!!
I’m turnin’ it loose.
Footloose
Kick off the Sunday shoes
Please, Louise
Pull me off of my knees
Jack, get back
Come on before we crack
Lose your blues
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
(Everybody)
Everybody cut footloose!

SOLO:
Tommy used to work on the docks, union's been on strike
He's down on his luck, it's tough, so tough
Gina works the diner all day, working for her man
She brings home her pay, for love, mmm, for love
ALL:
She says, "We've gotta hold on to what we've got
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot for love
We'll give it a shot"
Whoa, we're half way there
Whoa oh, livin' on a prayer
Take my hand, we'll make it, I swear
Whoa oh, livin' on a prayer
Livin' on a prayer
